Newport Carnival

Newport Carnival takes place every year in Newport, Shropshire.

Always held on the second Saturday in June, it is one of the oldest carnivals in the county, returning for the 54th time in 2023.

The carnival features a parade that winds its way through the streets of Newport, with floats, vintage vehicles, music and performers.

There are also fairground rides, food and drink stalls, live music and a range of other activities for visitors to enjoy.

Record crowds of more than 10,000 attended the 2022 event - the first Newport Carnival held since before lockdown.

Organised by a group of plucky volunteers, Newport Carnival is the biggest free event in the town's calendar.

It is a great way for local businesses, organizations and individuals to come together and celebrate the community spirit of Newport.

It is also, first and foremost, an absolutely brilliant family day out.
